NCF Boulder: Looking Ahead to the Club’s Next Home
As many of you know, NCF Boulder will be moving when our current lease ends on January 31, 2027.
By then, the club will have spent 26 years in its current location. For many of our members, that is the only NCF home they have ever known. But the club’s history in Boulder goes back further, and this next move is part of a much longer story.
Before NCF had a permanent home of its own, Gary was teaching fencing in a much more mobile way - coaching through local recreation centers, traveling by car, and building the club one practice, one lesson, and one student at a time in Boulder, Fort Collins, and beyond.
In 1990, the club opened its first dedicated location at 3132 Valmont Road, where it remained until 1996. From there, NCF moved to 1725B Walnut Street in 1996, and stayed there until 2000. In 2000, the club moved to its current facility, where it has now operated for more than a quarter century.
That long history matters. NCF has never been defined by just one address. What has endured is the coaching, the training, the standards, the relationships, and the community that have carried the club forward over time.
As we begin the search for the next home of NCF Boulder, we wanted to share that process with our community directly. Our fencing community includes a remarkably thoughtful, well-connected, and resourceful group of people, and if anyone is aware of a possible space, property owner, landlord, or commercial real estate lead that may be relevant, we would be glad to hear about it.
In general, we are looking for a Boulder- or Gunbarrel-area industrial/flex space, including areas moving east from Boulder along the Arapahoe corridor, that can support training, instruction, equipment, and normal club operations.
We are not asking for favors or informal deal-making. We are already working with Drew Weiman of WW Reynolds, and any serious property conversations or formal follow-up will go through him in the normal professional way. What we welcome from the community are ideas, introductions, and leads that may help widen the search.
NCF has grown and adapted across several homes over the years, and we expect this next chapter to be approached with the same care and seriousness.
Thank you for being part of the club and for the many ways people continue to support NCF over time.
