Signing Up for Classes, Lessons, and Sessions with The Fencing Trainer
Ensuring Every Fencer Gets the Best Possible Training
At NCF Boulder, we use www.thefencingtrainer.com (TFP) to manage sign-ups for all classes, lessons, and training sessions. The system helps us plan balanced drills, assign the right number of coaches, and create the best possible experience for every fencer. It’s simple to use once you know the basicshere’s how it works, and what to do if you need to register at the last minute.
Step-by-Step Setup
1. Create an Account
Register under the fencer’s own name (not the parent’s). Each fencer must have their own account.
2. Sign Up for Training
- Log in to view the current schedule.
- Register for your class, lesson, or session up to 12:00 PM on the day of training.
- If you need to cancel, do so through the site before the cutoff.
- If you miss the deadline, email ncfboulder@gmail.com or text 303-641-6557 to check availability.
3. Confirm Registration
- Open “My Schedule” to confirm your registration.
- If it’s not listed, you are not registered.
4. Need Help?
- Email ncfboulder@gmail.com or text 303-641-6557 right away. Don’t wait until class time.
A Note on Last-Minute Attendance
We ask all fencers to sign up for classes, lessons, and sessions through TFP so we can plan effectively. Knowing who’s coming helps us set balanced drills, ensure enough coaches are available, and keep practices running smoothly.
We understand that emergencies and last-minute changes happen. If you can’t register before the cutoff, please email ncfboulder@gmail.com or text 303-641-6557. We’ll do our best to accommodate you when space and staffing allow.
The system exists for everyone’s benefit-the more notice we have, the better we can design training that challenges and supports each fencer.
FAQ
Q: My fencer is brand new to fencing/NCF Boulder. How do we get started?
A: The best way to begin is with a free Introductory Fencing Lesson. You can sign up directly in any open private lesson slot through The Fencing Trainer. If you’d prefer to discuss the best time or have questions before booking, please email ncfboulder@gmail.com or text 303-641-6557.
The introductory lesson provides a personal, one-on-one introduction to fencing covering safety, equipment, and basic movement so your fencer feels confident and ready before joining a group class. Afterward, you can talk with the coach about whether to continue with private lessons or transition into a class.
Q: What if I’m not sure which class or session to register for?
A: Email ncfboulder@gmail.com or text 303-641-6557 for guidance. We’ll help place your fencer in the class that best matches their age and experience.
Q: What if my child misses a class-can they make it up another day?
A: Yes!, make-ups depend on space and coach availability. Please email ncfboulder@gmail.com or text 303-641-6557 to ask about openings before attending a different session as soon as practically convenient.
Q: Do I need to register every week, or does it carry over automatically?
A: Registration does not auto-renew. You’ll need to sign up for each class, lesson, or session individually through The Fencing Trainer.
Q: When is the new class schedule posted?
A: Class and lesson schedules are updated monthly in The Fencing Trainer. All sessions for the month are visible once posted, and you can register at any time up to the 12:00 PM cutoff on the day of training.
Q: Can I register all my kids under one account?
A: No. Each fencer must have their own account under their own name.
Q: Can I just text a coach instead of registering?
A: Not for regular sign-ups, please use the system. For last-minute situations, a quick email to ncfboulder@gmail.com or text to 303-641-6557 helps us prepare.
Q: What happens if I miss the 12:00 PM cutoff?
A: The system locks. You will need to contact the club directly at ncfboulder@gmail.com or 303-641-6557 to check availability.
Q: I canceled before the lesson/class but still got billed-why?
A: Cancellations after the cutoff count as a used class or lesson.
Q: How do I know my registration worked?
A: If you don’t see the class, lesson, or session in “My Schedule,” you’re not signed up.
Q: Who do I contact if I’m stuck?
A: Email ncfboulder@gmail.com or text 303-641-6557 with your name and a short description of the issue.
Final Note
We know it’s one more step, but using TFP keeps everything running smoothly-for you, for us, and for the whole club. Thank you for helping us build the best possible training environment at NCF Boulder.
