Northern Colorado
Fencers was started in 1979 by Head Coach Gary
Copeland; NCF members have had enormous success in winning both
national and international individual and team titles. (Click
here for a PDF listing NCF's
individual national champions through 2005.) NCF fencers have recently been awarded
fencing scholarships to Ohio State and Penn State Universities.
However, NCF’s mission
is to enable every member to reach his or her potential and to make this
achievement as satisfying and enriching as possible. For some, this
means winning as many fencing titles as possible, while others prefer to
concentrate on recreational fencing.
We have worked hard to
create an environment that strongly suits a wide range of desires for
our members by:
-
actively supporting very young children
who are interested in learning the basics of our sport.
-
encouraging a wide range of intermediate
fencers to enjoy the sport and, if they choose, to take their skills
as far as they can in the competitive arena.
-
providing training, coaching, and
guidance to an advanced group of fencers to succeed at the top tier
of the national and international fencing stage.
NCF is structured to
make sure that fencers will be able to find success at the Club
regardless of their personal objectives.
All of our fencers are
important to us. They each help to create the multi-faceted environment
at the Club that we believe is so important. We are very proud of what
we have accomplished and we hope you will join us as we strive to do
even better.
NCF is a member of the
Colorado
Division, Rocky Mountain Region, of the
United States
Fencing Association.
